The Ancient and Honorable Bibliophilic Society began January 7, 1997, when the four founding members established the charter and bylaws. In March of that year, a fifth member was inducted, and The Society membership was sealed forever.
Brother Jonathan has the eyes of a crazy person. His conservative collar shirt and windbreaker do not disguise this fact. Friendly neighborhood rabbi or plotting maniac? You tell me.
Brother Russell’s smile offers a glimpse into a devil-may-care man, one who, since co-founding The Society, gloriously cast aside two previous careers to become an author (his works can be found at outerislandpress.com).
Brother Bob's look is professorial-chic, as befitting someone who has spent decades rummaging around in basements inspecting ancient manuscripts. Sporting a natty tweed jacket and plaid tie, he has taken this rare and fine occasion to comb his otherwise unruly locks. And yet there is an air of mystery: Is he wearing mis-matched shoes? Does he even have pants on??
Brother John is a man of great sophistication and style. While some covet the finest Cuban cigars, John prefers a more hearty leaf, born along the swamps of Alabama and distributed by the fine shopkeepers of 7-11. He insists on only the finest vintage Old Milwaukee, and will stand for nothing less.
Brother Gary’s kindly disposition masks a dark interior... Why has he chosen so many disaster stories? Who arranged a police kidnapping to the site of the sinking of the Eastland? What dangerous motives lie beneath his power-hungry role as Society Secretary??
